DX Gosei Great

The 2010 Super Sentai show is here; it’s Goseiger, and their big bad-guy-smashin’, docking and transforming machine is called Gosei Great. Like all the toys that Bandai produces for these Super Sentai series, the build and plastic used in this toy is exceptionally sturdy; easily able to withstand the punishment that a rambunctious 3-7 year old is going to deal out.

This core set comes with five Gosei machines and a sword. As usual, one machine (this time the Phoenix) forms the central body, and the other four machines form the arms and legs. Each individual machine can transform between its independent vehicle mode and the configuration needed to dock up.

The gimmick that Bandai came up with for Goseiger is the “header.” Each individual machine has a removable head that snaps into position via a universal joint (those black disks visible on the knees, shoulders, wings, etc.). So the individual heads, and some other parts, can be removed and replaced in any of those locations to create your own unique versions of Gosei Great. Of course, the other machines that Bandai will release throughout the year will also be able to join up, and Gosei Great will get greater and greater over the course of the season. But none of that happens unless you have this core set, so get your Goseiger mecha collection started today!
